Jobs Board Info

General Information

Mongdori's job board allows for users to rate and leave comments on recruiters. Your comments will show up every time a recruiter adds a new job.

This board is intended for ESL teachers looking to work in Korea, but are unsure about a recruiter's reputation. If you have researched ESL teaching in Korea on the internet, you have most likely read horror stories about teaching here. If a recruiter is pressuring you to sign a contract, you may want to ask that they post their job to this board. At the very least, you can provide feedback for others if you feel that your recruiter has let you down.

Posting

Posting to the job board is free and easy, all you need is to register for a Mongdori ID. If you have already registered and logged in, click here to post a job.

You may include images, video, and text formatting in your job posts by using the same BBcodes used in most internet forums.

Adding Comments

If you are logged in, then there is a field at the bottom of every job post for rating and posting comments. Please comment about the job poster, and not the individual job, because your input here will show up at the bottom of every other job posted by the same user. Be aware that the job board is meant to act more as a whitelist than a blacklist.

Abusive comments may be blocked, but a link to your username will remain so users can contact you directly. Read the section below on libel laws for more information.

Your feedback will be linked to your username, so other users can check the validity of the user. Currently, all comments have to be approved by the site administrator. Several other safegaurds, such as IP logging, have also been implemented in order to prevent abuse of the comments and ratings system.

After submitting your comment, you won't be allowed to edit it without directly petitioning the site administrator.

Libel Laws in Korea

Please be aware that Korea has strict libel laws that could see someone paying fines of up to 10 million won for making disparaging comments on the internet. To avoid being sued, the standard way to make unfavorable comments is to use just a first initial, followed by a city name. For example, you can write about "P" school in Anyang, but you can't mention the school by it's full name.
