Here's an interesting comic strip we came across the other day. This was on the Illegal Foreigner Teachers website, mentioned in an earlier post as a main source for the Pandora's Box program. I have a feeling this is what really inspired them to make their report...

Part 1.

This is the story of a guy named Henry (sorry, Hendo)...


Henry: If I stay in my hometown working at WalMart, no girls will ever talk to me.

Part 2.

Henry arrives in Korea to be greeted by his students...


Students: We love you foreigner teacher!

Part 3.


Henry: When I came to Korea in 2000, I only had 200,000 Won, but now I have 5,000,000,000 won because I found a rich housewife.

This is so weird.

anyway so sad...

I think this comic actually shows very little respect for Korean females rather than the dude. According to this comic: Korean girls are weak and slutty....Maybe the comic writer has some problems??
The nose on Henry is amazing.

I think the artist definitely has some issues. But the more I see the comics, and after getting over the initial shock of feeling targeted, the more interesting they are to me. This guy is like the Korean Robert Crumb, only making white Americans know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of racism. Unfortunately, I didn't find an artist name anywhere, because I would really like to see more of his work.

So the moral of the story is?????????

a)Foreigners are evil cause they come here and steal our women.
b)Foreigners are evil cause they can make more than us at E-mart.
c)Foreigners are evil cause they can pick up our women. but we Koreans can't steal theirs.
d)Korean girls are easy whores.

I love morons like this guy. They insult us, and at the same time insult their women. No wonder K-girls like the waegooks more than the hangooks.

I have to agree with Mongdori about the artist being similar to Robert Crumb. Not politically correct, that's for sure; but strangely interesting.

Mongdori is prob. right...I don't think that this is so much racist as un-P.C., much like R. Crumb's work, who he is definitely paying homage to (or ripping off). This guy (the artist) probably isn't the drunk adjosshi on the metro hassling you and your girlfriend. He's probably the guy who's playing PSP and not even noticing you.

Either way, what difference does it make? If Koreans want to believe that foreigners are rich sex Gods, I'm not going to stop them.

I wonder what will happen when Korean men figure out that there are in fact other women on earth besides Korean women? Their national chauvinism only hurts themselves, by limiting their prospects for happiness...

What does suck is the whole fake diploma thing, that's such BS. Even last week my coteacher was saying how "many" foreigners use fake diplomas to get jobs here. When I asked her what kind of numbers she has, or where she was getting information from, she couldn't say. She just knew it to be "true".

Defend yourself in Korean and English

Come on, there are certainly a fair number of expats in Korea who would be doing shizz in the US who are making a fair living as English teachers. These comics are ripping on the entire Korean system of how these unqualified teachers are being placed on a pedestal, primarily becuase they're white and foreign.

I am wondering if, had someone offered him a few thousand dollars to to teach Korean in the US to students who don't care, would he do it?

I suspect he would not mind being in the same position as the cartoon, with blond girls all over him and a bank full of money.

Well....what do you people expect? Korean men treat women like crap. Stop treating them like crap and perhaps we won't scoop up your women, or at least the good ones.

and for MELONMOSTER: Who do you expect from the west to come here and teach?

Do you honestly think that ivy league graduates should come here and teach for the equivalent of a job back home's expense account/month?

Korea is lucky to get white people with a pulse concidering how Hogwans treat the average worker. Sure EPIK and other higher echelon jobs(college/uni) set better conditions but they need to be. Who would come and who would stay if they weren't?

The fact of the matter is that Koreans are still not serious about English education and anyone involved in it is out for one purpose and one purpose only;profit via scamming white people that come here and the parents that pay these middlemen to do nothing.

When I do privates, I do a good job and I eliminate the scam of the middleman who usually hasn't even taken the time to learn my language that he is profiting from. (ie hogwan directors).
